It was a big night for more then 1 million oz live in front of tv and crowds, waiting for the announcement of Australia Next Top Model 2010. Sarah Murdoch accidentally announced Kelsey as the winner, instead the rightful winner Amanda Ware.
I think yesterday night must has been the most embarrassing night for poor Sarah(look at her reaction), when she told the audience she had been fed with wrong info, and the real winner was actually Amanda.

An extra hour to enjoy the day
Tomorrow(26 Sept 2010)is the first day of New Zealand Daylight savings time. It means the clock will be push forward an hour to become GMT +13. It sounds funny is it? Why we need to do that? This is the sort of question i'll be asking when i first experience this, and today i have my answer.
Solar Systems
Earth makes a complete counterclockwise rotation on its axis, which cause day-night cycle. However, earth axis actually tilted by 23.5 degrees, with north end of the earth axis always pointed towards North Star. Seasonal changes occur as the earth orbit the sun.
During summer, the portion of the Earth that is experiencing summer is tilted toward the Sun. So, it gets longer days.(New Zealand and other south atmosphere country in this case).
Someone might ask how long the day can get up to? Its depends on the latitude. Starting from spring equinox(21 September), sunrise become earlier and earlier at the same time sunset getting late. Summer solstice(longest day) is on December 22, where we get up to 15 hours of daylight.
Why we need to push forward the clock
I'll include the chart to help me better explain this, and i'll use wellington time as standard. On Aug 9, sunrise at 07:20 and set at 17:33. More then five weeks later(Sept 18), sunrise at 06:18 and sunset at 18:13.
As you can see, sunrise has become nearly 1 hour earlier and sunset become 40minutes later. This will continue and the sun will rise at 04:42(B) if we dont push forward an hour to the clock. What you wanna do by waking up before 5am?
Therefore, we push forward the clock on 26th September 2010, indirectly longer the evening time.(A) This will give people an extra hour of daylight after working-hours during summer months for recreation of all kind, especially outdoor. There will be a saving on power usage as artificial light is not needed until late.
All in all, i enjoy the beginning of daylight savings and so do most of the people(i guess...haha). I'll be able to spend more time in the garden, and go biking more often...yeah!!

Strangest Penalty Goal Ever
In my 10years as a football fans, this is the first time i saw such a joke by the goalkeeper.
Not many peolple aware of this as it happen during a clash between Moroccan top division team Maghreb Fez vs FAR Raba. Goalkeeper Khalid Askri turns to celebrate totally unaware that the ball is coolly spinning itself into the back on the net.
It is only when he turns his head that he realises he has quite possibly made the stupidest mistake in football EVER! haha
